I will visit the United States of America, Sri Lanka and Indonesia to strengthen Australia’s ties with these close partners and further progress our cooperation on strategic issues of shared interest.
In the United States, I will meet with a range of senior officials and law enforcement partners to discuss and deepen our collaboration, particularly on cyber security, protecting critical infrastructure, countering terrorism and preventing serious and organised crime.
During my visit to Sri Lanka, I will build upon our three-quarter century relationship as we continue to collaborate on regional security and transnational threats, including countering people smuggling; with 2022 marking 75 years since Australia first established diplomatic relations with Sri Lanka.
During my visit to Indonesia, I will co‑Chair the 8th annual Australian-Indonesian Ministerial Council Meeting together with my Indonesian counterpart Minister Mahfud MD. We will discuss continued cooperation on shared priorities for the region, including combatting terrorism and violent extremism, enhancing maritime security and improving cyber security.
My visit builds upon the Australian Government’s commitment to and partnerships in the US and Indo-Pacific. I look forward to continued collaboration with international partners in pursuit of our shared goals.
