Nominations are now open for the 2023 McPherson Community Awards, which celebrate the outstanding contributions residents make to our local community.
Federal Member for McPherson Karen Andrews MP said that she is incredibly proud of the community.
“Throughout the challenges of the past few years, our southern Gold Coast community has banded together. The selflessness of our volunteers across the region has ensured that we emerge from a difficult time stronger than ever,” Mrs Andrews said.
“Community groups, surf clubs, and local sporting clubs are integral to the southern Gold Coast, and they all rely on everyday locals being willing to sacrifice their time,” she said. “Young and old, our community is full of fantastic people volunteering for the organisations that benefit locals.”
There are three categories open for nomination:
- McPherson Community Achiever
- Young Community Achiever (under 25 years of age)
- Surf Lifesaving Community Achiever
“If you know someone who lives on the southern Gold Coast and is deserving of this recognition, I encourage you to nominate them today,” Mrs Andrews said.
“Their selflessness and devotion to our community is a great reflection of our magnificent region. I am proud to serve the people of McPherson in our nation’s Parliament.”
