Gold Coast MP Karen Andrews is calling on the local community to support the Currumbin Community Special School E-waste Warriors by donating E-waste to the school.
Mrs Andrews said “I recently visited the Currumbin Community Special School E-waste Warriors and was so impressed with the program. Recycling unwanted E-waste provides wonderful learning outcomes for their students. I encourage the local community to take stock of any E-waste they may have and donate it to the E-waste Warriors”.
The E-waste program salvages valuable materials from E-waste products to improve students’ technical knowledge and skills, enhance their ability to use tools, improve their fine motor skills and teach good workplace health and safety practices.
“Students learn valuable vocational skills while engaging in fun learning experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM)” Mrs Andrews said.
Currumbin E-waste Warriors would like donations of:
- Computers of any type and any vintage
- DVD players/VCR/set top box
- Power tools
- Cameras, mobile phones, game consoles, game controllers
- Stereos and amplifiers
- Flat screen televisions and monitors
- Small electrical appliances
- No white good please
If you can donate any E-Waste to the E-Waste Warriors, please contact Currumbin Community Special School 07 55599333 or admin@currumbinspecs.eq.edu.au
