Karen Andrews MP has encouraged students, parents and school communities in McPherson to say a big ‘thank-you’ to their principal and celebrate Australian Primary Principals Day.
Ms Andrews said principals played a critical role in the lives and education of our children.
“Principals contribute to the school community and are vital to the success of their students,” Ms Andrews said.
As the Minister for Industry, Science and Technology, Ms Andrews is a major advocate for the expansion of STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) programs within Australian schools.
“Ensuring students have comprehensive STEM skills is essential to Australia’s future economic and social wellbeing and I acknowledge the primary principals for embracing these vital subjects,” she said.
“On Australian Primary Principals Day we pay tribute to every principal and the passion they bring to an important job.
“In McPherson there are amazing principals working across our 26 primary schools.
“Our hardworking local principals and school leaders in McPherson deserve our thanks and on Australian Primary Principals Day we recognise the contribution they make to our community.”
Australian Primary Principals Day is celebrated on Friday 2 August 2019.
