The world’s largest and most prestigious international skills competition has wrapped up with 4 competitors from Australia taking home medals in their selected fields.
The 44th WorldSkills Competition was held in Abu Dhabi this week with participants showcasing their skills in a wide range of fields, from 3D digital game art to hairdressing, welding and more.
Assistant Minister for Vocational Education and Skills, Karen Andrews, said she was impressed by the high standard of this year’s Skillaroos team and congratulated them for their hard work and dedication.
“You have proved that you are great ambassadors for your industry not just in Australia, but internationally,” Minister Andrews said.

“The competition is an outstanding platform to inspire and encourage young Australians to find out more about the immense array of career choices available through nationally recognised training.”
