Some of the Southern Gold Coast’s hardest working community volunteers will be recognised at an awards ceremony at Robina this Friday.
The 7th annual McPherson Awards will be presented by local Federal Member Karen Andrews
to celebrate and acknowledge the hard work and commitment of volunteers in the electorate.
“There are many people in our community who quietly dedicate their time to helping others and these awards are an opportunity to thank them and give them the recognition they deserve,” Mrs Andrews said.
“Our volunteers are the backbone of our community and without the hours of service they put in, many of our organisations wouldn’t be able to provide the services they do.”
There are three categories for the McPherson Awards.
McPherson Community Achiever Award
McPherson Young Community Achiever Award and;
McPherson Surf Lifesaving Community Achiever Award.
“The stories of the nominees this year are once again inspiring and it is always a great privilege to recognise their service to the community at the McPherson Awards,” Mrs Andrews said,
The Awards ceremony will be held at the Robina Community Centre, 196 Robina Town Centre Drive corner of San Antonio Court, at 9:00am on Friday 5 May.
