Nominations are now open for the 2017 McPherson Community Achiever Awards which recognise residents who make outstanding contributions to our community.
Federal Member for McPherson, the Hon Karen Andrews MP says the awards highlight the great
contribution volunteers make to their organisations, clubs and groups.
“Australians are well known for their unwavering support and hours of volunteering for community organisations, events, competitions and other activities within our local communities and the Southern Gold Coast is no exception,” Mrs Andrews said.
“If you know someone who you believe is deserving of this recognition I encourage you to nominate them for a McPherson Community Achiever Award.”
There are three categories open for nomination – McPherson Community Achiever, Surf
Lifesaving Community Achiever and Young Community Achiever for those under 25
years of age.
“It never ceases to amaze me how many wonderful people there are in our community.
Every year I receive nomination forms from people who have dedicated years of service to their club or community organisation and it always makes me feel so proud to represent people like this in our nation’s Parliament.
“I look forward to seeing this year’s nominations and learning about the many unsung local heroes of the southern Gold Coast.”
Nomination forms are available by contacting the office on 5580 9111 or at
